The Wellness Community Program
The Wellness Community-West Los Angeles is a support center for people fighting for recovery from cancer, and for their family and friends. Through weekly support groups, educational and interactive workshops and stress reducing classes, participants find hope, regain control over their lives and realize they are not alone. There is no charge for any services.

The Community
We offer a home-like setting available all day long where people with cancer can come to be with others to share, learn, and fight for recovery.

Who comes to The Wellness Community?
Adults with cancer who wish to improve the quality of their lives and actively fight for their recovery along with their physicians and healthcare team. Family and friends are also welcome to participate.

What does it cost to participate?
Nothing. The Wellness Community is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization that does not charge for any of its services. It is supported by tax-deductible contributions from the public.

What do participants do at The Wellness Community?
Individuals with cancer and their families can choose to participate in a variety of learning opportunities that can improve the quality of their lives, reduce stress, and may enhance the possibility of recovery. Activities include: support groups, educational workshops, stress management sessions and social events.

Are medical services or advice available at The Wellness Community?
The Wellness Community does not have a medical staff. Individuals seek their own treatment as they deem necessary. The program is meant to support the treatment prescribed by a patient's healthcare team and is not a substitute for conventional medical care.

How does The Wellness Community work with medical Treatment?
While the medical profession fights cancer on the physical front, The Wellness Community helps people with cancer learn techniques that help them fight on the psychosocial front. The Wellness Community is not an alternative to medical treatment. It is in support of and in addition to conventional medical care.
