About The Wellness
Community-West Los Angeles:
Founded in 1982 in Santa Monica by Harold Benjamin, Ph.D., The
Wellness Community-West Los Angeles (TWC-WLA) is a 501(c)(3)
organization that provides psychosocial support and education to
people affected by cancer. All services and programs are offered
free of charge.
Our programs include diagnosis-specific support groups (breast,
brain, pancreas, prostate), mixed-diagnosis support groups,
caregiver support groups, eleven weekly stress reduction and
exercise classes, educational seminars on disease specific
treatments and topics, and social activities. Through our programs,
people affected by cancer learn vital skills that enable them to
regain control, reduce isolation, and restore hope regardless of the
stage of their disease.
To read about
the personal impact that our programs have had on individuals'
lives, visit our 25 Stories
of Inspiration page, where you can read the unique stories of
some of our current and past participants.
